UK group collection providers: profiles and facts
Disclosure: The Group Gift Guide is operated by Gift Round Limited, which also operates GiftRound. See our ownership disclosure.
A plain, factual look at the main UK online group collection providers, GiftRound, Collection Pot, Thankbox and Collctiv, plus the bank transfer alternative, so you can compare fees, limits and redemption before you organise a collection.

The options for collecting money as a group
Online group collection platforms let an organiser set up a page, share a link, and collect contributions from a group towards a gift, card or fund. Contributors typically pay by card, and the platform handles tracking who has given, sending reminders, and making the funds or a gift card available to the organiser or recipient.
The four providers profiled here, GiftRound, Collection Pot, Thankbox and Collctiv, all operate in the UK and each has a different fee structure, contribution limit and redemption method. A manual bank transfer collection, where one person gathers money into their own account, is also common and has its own trade-offs.
How we checked the facts
Every fact stated in these profiles comes from each provider's own pricing pages, terms of service or help articles, checked on 18 September 2026. We have not tested these platforms ourselves, and we do not calculate an overall winner or score.
Trustpilot ratings shown are Trustpilot's own published scores and approximate review counts, described using Trustpilot's AI-generated review summaries, not our independent testing.
The four providers
- GiftRound: organisers and contributors pay no fee, redemption is a FlexCard e-gift card.
- Collection Pot: free to create, a contribution fee applies, redemption includes cash-out, gift cards or products.
- Thankbox: free to start, a contribution fee applies, redemption includes gift cards, a prepaid card, PayPal or bank transfer.
- Collctiv: no standard setup or contribution charge for the consumer product, optional tips and a support contribution, bank withdrawal available.
The bank transfer alternative
Some groups skip a platform entirely and ask contributors to send money directly to one organiser's bank account. This avoids any platform fee, but it puts the administrative burden, and the responsibility for handling other people's money, entirely on one person, with no dedicated tracking, reminders or redemption tools.
